Two Men Caught After Trying to Rob Jewellery Shop in Chandigarh

Chandigarh — Two men struggling with heavy debts attempted to rob a prominent jewellery showroom in Manimajra but failed. Both were later arrested by the UT Police in Haryana on Monday.

The Attempted Robbery

According to the complaint by Surinder Kumar, 41, a security guard at the showroom, two masked men arrived at around 2.30am. One restrained him at knifepoint and tied him to a chair while the other tried to break the showroom lock. Kumar managed to free himself and alert another guard, forcing the accused to flee.

  • Business Link: Himanshu runs Sahil Enterprises, a housekeeping services firm
  • Arrest: Both caught in Haryana after police formed three teams

Police Action

Showroom manager Sandeep Dogra reached the spot after being informed and lodged a complaint. A case was registered and three police teams were formed to track down the suspects. CCTV footage across Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali helped link the culprits to Ambala.

Arrests and Investigation

Himanshu was the first to be arrested, and police recovered the car used in the crime. Based on his disclosure, Sunny was also apprehended. During questioning, it was revealed that Himanshu operated a firm named Sahil Enterprises, which provides housekeeping services to companies and firms.
