Mumbai Bank Employee Arrested For Rs. 1 Crore Blackmail Plot Against Ex-Boyfriend

A shocking case has emerged in Mumbai where a private bank employee allegedly blackmailed her ex-boyfriend and demanded Rs. 1 crore.
The accused, Dolly Kotak, is said to have threatened to ruin the victimโ€™s life and send him to jail if he did not pay.

Colleagues Allegedly Helped Access Personal Data

According to police, Dolly allegedly enlisted three of her bank colleagues โ€”
Harsh Srivastava, Anant Ruia, and Jayesh Gaikwad โ€”
to illegally obtain the victimโ€™s sensitive information, including email access, bank details, location data, and personal photographs.

Threats And Job Loss

In May 2024, the victim reportedly received a message from Dollyโ€™s phone number stating:

โ€œPay the money or be ready to rot in jail, you will never win.โ€

The accused also allegedly sent objectionable emails to the victimโ€™s company HR, which resulted in him losing his job.

Case Registered After Court Direction

The victim initially approached the police but no action was taken. He then moved the Borivali Magistrate Court.
Following the courtโ€™s direction, Charkop Police registered a formal case under Section 175(3) of the BNSS.

FIR Names Multiple Accused

Besides Dolly Kotak, the FIR also names her brother Sagar Kotak, her friend Pramila Vaz,
and the three bank employees who allegedly assisted her. They have been booked under various sections of the
IPC, IT Act, and BNSS.
