During these maintenance windows, customers will not be able to carry out digital transactions from HDFC Bank accounts.
Services Will Be Down on These Dates
HDFC Bank has scheduled two separate maintenance periods in December 2025:
- December 13, 2025: 2:30 AM to 6:30 AM
- December 21, 2025: 2:30 AM to 6:30 AM
Each maintenance window will last for approximately four hours. The bank stated that the downtime is necessary for system upgrades and to improve service quality.
Which Services Will Be Affected?
During the maintenance period, the following services will remain unavailable:
- UPI payments from HDFC Bank savings and current accounts
- UPI payments using HDFC Bank RuPay credit cards
- Transactions via mobile banking apps
- UPI payments through third-party apps such as PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm
Merchants whose UPI settlement accounts are linked to HDFC Bank may also experience temporary disruption.
Alternative Payment Option: PayZapp Wallet
HDFC Bank has advised customers to use its PayZapp wallet during the maintenance hours. The bank confirmed that PayZapp services will continue to function normally during this period.
Customers can download the PayZapp app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After registering with a mobile number and OTP verification, users must complete one of the following KYC processes:
- Full KYC: Bank-based KYC for HDFC Bank customers
- Basic KYC: PAN-based KYC for non-HDFC customers
PayZapp Transaction Limits
- PAN-based KYC: ₹10,000 to ₹1,20,000 (monthly/annual limits)
- Bank-based Full KYC: Up to ₹10 lakh per year
Customers can also set spending limits based on their preferences. Any Cashpoints earned can be redeemed directly into the wallet through the “Cashpoints & Offers” section.
