An 18-year-old student from Greater Noida was left stunned after discovering a balance of nearly ₹1.13 lakh crore displayed in his bank account through a mobile banking app on Monday afternoon.
The youth, Dalip Singh, a Class 12 student from the Unchi Dankaur area, had logged into the Navi App linked to his savings account in a private-sector bank. To his disbelief, the screen showed an astronomical amount—over ₹1,13,56,00,00,00,000—far exceeding any realistic figure.
Alarmed by the massive sum appearing in his account, Dalip promptly approached the Dankaur police station and reported the issue on August 4.
According to SHO Munendra Singh, “The youth informed us that the balance shown in the app was highly suspicious. After verifying the claim, we found it was due to a technical glitch in the mobile application.”
The figure spanning over 36 to 37 digits quickly went viral on social media platforms by Tuesday, sparking curiosity and humor among users.
Police confirmed there was no real money credited into the account. The displayed amount was purely a technical error on the banking app interface.
Dalip’s bank branch is located in the Alpha 1 area of Greater Noida. Officials confirmed the matter has been resolved and advised users not to rely solely on app balances without verification.
