Officials said that around 20 workers were present at Surya Fire Works when the explosion occurred. Rescue and relief operations were launched immediately.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the accident site and offered condolences to the affected families.
Earlier, the Chief Minister spoke with officials and reviewed the situation. He inquired about the causes of the explosion and the status of rescue and relief operations.
Naidu expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and directed ministers and senior officials to monitor the situation closely and assist the victims’ families.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the tragedy and extended condolences to the bereaved families.

The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the PMNRF to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
