Bank Holiday Alert for December 1
Mumbai: Today, 30 November, is the last day of the month, and from tomorrow, December — the final month of 2025 — begins.
If you are planning to visit your bank in the first few days of December, it’s important to know that several bank holidays are scheduled in certain cities and states.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues the bank holiday list in advance.
These holidays may apply only in specific states, depending on regional events or celebrations.
Where Will Banks Be Closed on December 1?
On 1 December (Monday), banks will remain closed in the following states:
- Arunachal Pradesh
- Nagaland
If you live in either of these states and were planning a bank visit tomorrow, you should reschedule your plans.
Banks across the rest of India will operate normally.
Why Are Banks Closed Tomorrow?
According to RBI, the holidays in these two states are due to regional observances:
- Arunachal Pradesh: State Inauguration Day
- Nagaland: Indigenous Faith Day
Because of these local events, banks will not operate on December 1 in both states.
Note: For the rest of India, December 1 is a regular working day for banks.
