The ministry of statistics & programme implementation, in collaboration with the state bank of india (sbi), has revolutionized mplads fund management through the esakshi digital platform.
The eSAKSHI web portal, launched on 1st april 2023, integrates three key stages of the mplads workflow โ mp recommendations, sanctioning by district authorities, and execution by implementing agencies โ into a seamless digital ecosystem. The integration with sbi plays a vital role in managing the revised fund flow procedures, ensuring quick and transparent fund releases without the need for physical accounts.
SBI integration enables seamless and digital fund flow
With sbi as a key collaborator, the portal eliminates manual processes and replaces them with an end-to-end digital system. The secure financial infrastructure enabled by sbi supports real-time fund tracking, transparent disbursals, and efficient implementation. The partnership has been central to ensuring faster fund transfers, reduced delays, and greater accountability across stakeholders.
Mobile app empowers mps to recommend and monitor on-the-go
To further enhance accessibility, a dedicated mobile application has been launched. This empowers members of parliament to recommend projects and monitor progress in real-time, bringing speed and convenience to mplads-related decisions.
Nationwide rollout with training and support kiosks
All states and union territories have been successfully onboarded. The ministry conducts regular workshops, webinars, and hands-on training sessions, ensuring stakeholders understand the system thoroughly. Additionally, help kiosks and a dedicated helpdesk (9 am to 6 pm) operate during every parliament session to support mps with mplads and esakshi operations.
Real-time dashboards, login-based tracking boost transparency
The esakshi portal offers customized dashboards, progress reports, and secure logins, allowing every stakeholder โ from mps to district officials โ to track status and ensure timely execution. These features have greatly improved coordination and reduced pending tasks across the mplads pipeline.
Strict timelines under mplads guidelines, 2023
Under the mplads guidelines, 2023:
- District authorities must approve or reject mp recommendations within 45 days
- Most works must be completed within 1 year, extendable only under exceptional circumstances
- All approved works should be completed within 18 months of the mp demitting office
Monthly reviews and feedback-driven upgrades
The ministry holds monthly reviews with states/uts to assess pending projects, delays, and non-payments. Based on user feedback, the esakshi portal is regularly updated for better performance, ensuring it stays relevant and efficient.
With sbiโs technological backing and the ministryโs push for transparency, the esakshi platform marks a significant leap in the digital governance of mplads, enabling quicker project execution and better service delivery to constituencies.
